Terms of service

1. The basics

Operation Monarch ("OPM", "we", "us") is an independent community-run DayZ server and website. We are not affiliated with Bohemia Interactive a.s. or any other party associated with the DayZ trademark. We provide game server access, in-game cosmetic items, and community services on a best-effort basis. Your use of the site and server is at your own discretion.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old (and meet your local minimum age for playing an 18+ rated game) to use OPM. You must own a legitimate copy of DayZ on Steam. You must be able to enter into a binding contract in your country.

3. Your account

You sign in with Discord and link your Steam account. You are responsible for keeping your accounts secure. You must not impersonate other players, share accounts, or use accounts to evade bans.

4. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

• Cheat, exploit, or use third-party software that gives an unfair gameplay advantage.
• Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other players in-game, in our Discord, or on this website.
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, or compromise the server, website, or any related infrastructure.
• Resell skins, trade accounts, or otherwise commercialise OPM services without written permission.
• Post illegal, infringing, or sexually explicit content in any OPM-controlled channel.

Violations may result in temporary or permanent bans without warning and without refund.

5. Skin store purchases

• All purchases are processed by Stripe. We do not store card data.
• Skins are cosmetic only and do not affect gameplay stats.
• Skins are tied to your Steam64 ID and follow you across server wipes (unless we explicitly state otherwise).
• Delivery happens in-game by an admin, typically within minutes during peak hours and up to 24 hours otherwise.
• Skins do not expire under normal circumstances. If we permanently shut down the server, no refund is owed for previously delivered skins, but we will give 30 days' notice and a final delivery window.

6. Refunds

We offer a fair refund policy. Full details are on the refunds page. TL;DR: undelivered orders get a full refund on request. Delivered orders are reviewed case-by-case.

7. Server availability

We aim for high uptime but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled restarts run roughly every 4 hours. Wipes happen every 12–16 weeks and are announced in advance. If the server is offline for more than 48 hours due to our infrastructure failure (excluding upstream outages and DDoS), we will pro-rate any time-limited subscription items (e.g. Priority Pass).

8. Cosmetic items belong to OPM

When you buy a skin you are buying a license to use that cosmetic in OPM's servers. The underlying art assets remain the property of OPM and the artists who created them. You may not redistribute, reverse-engineer, or use OPM skins on third-party servers.

9. Disclaimers

OPM is provided "as-is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for in-game losses (gear, vehicles, bases) caused by bugs, exploits, server crashes, or wipes. Play at your own risk — that's DayZ.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of OPM is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these terms. You can request account deletion at any time via the contact page or our Discord.

12. Changes

We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be announced in our Discord. Continued use of OPM after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
