The OPM mod stack

Every mod we run, why we run it, and what it does to gameplay. Our philosophy: vanilla DayZ first, mods only where they meaningfully improve survival immersion or quality of life. Zero pay-to-win, zero arcade nonsense.

Subscribing

We maintain one Steam Workshop collection that auto-installs every mod below. The current link is pinned in our #server-info Discord channel — jump in here if you don't have access yet. Subscribe once and DayZ Launcher handles updates automatically.

Core (required)

  • Community Framework (CF)The shared mod framework that 90% of DayZ mods depend on. Required by almost every other mod in the stack.
  • CF Tools PerformanceServer-side performance tooling, telemetry, and admin features.

Base building

  • Code LockReplaces vanilla combination locks with proper PIN-coded locks. No more guessing 4-digit codes — your base is yours unless someone raids it.
  • Base Building PlusSignificantly expanded base-building options: walls, floors, doors, ramps, watchtowers. Lets you build defensible bases without absurd resource grind.

Gameplay tuning

  • Dr. Jones TraderThe classic DayZ trader system, customised for the OPM economy. Buy and sell gear in the safe zone using the OPM currency mod.
  • OPM CurrencyCustom currency tier (rubles, gold, platinum) used at traders. Drops as loot in military and civilian areas at tuned rates.
  • MMG Mightys Military GearAdds variety to military loadouts: plate carriers, helmets, NVGs in tuned spawn rates. No vanilla-breaking items, just more choice.
  • Custom Loot TablesOPM-tuned loot economy. Rifles are findable but not common. NVGs are rare military spawns. Food and water are scarce in the early game.

Quality of life

  • DayZ Expansion — CoreSelected pieces of the Expansion mod stack — chat enhancements, group system, party UI. We do NOT enable Expansion vehicles or quests.
  • Inventory+A cleaner, faster inventory UI. Drag-and-drop tweaks, hotkey support. Pure QoL — same items, same slots.
  • Vanilla++ MapAn improved in-game map with proper labels for all towns, military bases, and trader locations.

Visual / cosmetic

  • Cl0udys Military Gear RetexTexture overhaul for vanilla and MMG military gear. Better-looking camo, no gameplay impact.

What we deliberately don't run

  • Expansion vehicles / quests— turns DayZ into an arcade. Not what we're here for.
  • Helicopter mods — vertical mobility kills the ground-based tension that makes DayZ what it is.
  • Auto-run, ESP, mini-map mods — anything that removes core survival friction is out.
  • Mods that change weapon stats — vanilla ballistics and recoil only. We add variety, not advantage.

Mod update schedule

We follow upstream mod updates roughly weekly. Major mod changes (anything that affects loot, base building, or gameplay) are announced in #server-info with at least 48 hours notice. Minor updates can roll out quietly during scheduled restarts.

Suggesting a mod

Got a mod you think would fit OPM? Drop a suggestion in #mod-suggestions in our Discord. We review every suggestion against our philosophy: does it add survival depth or QoL without breaking balance? If yes, it gets a trial slot.
